Alice Scott
Morris has been creating whimsical imaginary worlds in fine detail in her etchings, with images of castles and cottages, wizards and jugglers, moons and suns, fairies and dragons, cats and carousels for over twenty years. She also created etchings of an hourglass, a map of Atlantis, teacups, angels and hearts, antique dolls and Victorian shops.
She lives in Southern California with her husband, Mike. Her daughters, Robin and Tracy, are now in college.
As an art student at UCLA she discovered etching, and since then was drawn to meticulous detail in her artwork.
Old childrens’ book illustrations, dream imagery and tales of fantasy originally influenced her artwork. These days she is also inspired by things like her garden, her cat, antiques and collectibles of many sorts.
Her original etchings are often described as having an antique, Old World look. They're widely distributed throughout the United States, and thanks to the World Wide Web they're finding homes in more distant and wonderful places as well!
