Johanna Scholz was born in Coburg, Germany in 1945. She studied in Berlin from 1966 to 1972 under a master artist. She received a DAAD-Scholarship for study in Barcelona, Spain in 1972.

Her work reflects her extensive travel throughout the world including the countries Israel, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Thailand, Malaysia and the United States.

Her work has been featured in galleries throughout Germany as well as on television and in art publications.
