Anya Romanenko was born in the Ukraine. There, she received her formal training at the Repin Fine Art College where she studied drawing, painting and composition.

Anya also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Kharkov Engineering University, Ukraine.

In 1998, Anya continued with her art studies at Sheridan College. To date she has worked in the field of children’s book illustration and card design. Her accomplishments include directing a Fine Arts program in the public school sector, 1992-94, created a CD cover for a Canadian pianist, Clark Bryan, in 1998 and has written and illustrated a children’s book most recently.

Anya uses many medias to paint – watercolor, oils acrylic, pencil as well as pen and ink.

Anya’s favorite subject matter is children and still life. Her work appears almost three-dimensional as she captures the playfulness of the subject matter bringing it to life and creating a whimsical style all her own.

Anya’s paintings are displayed in private collections and several art galleries in Canada, the United States, Ukraine, Russia and France. She has also exhibited at:
